Braving Up - The Sketchbook Project 2011

I'm taking part in this.
My sketchbook arrived in the mail:
very plain, sedated moleskine.
with thin paper for sketching
"your" whatever.
my selected Theme = lines and grids
because it sang to me
and I am happy there.

after engaging my writing coach
pen tip to paper style
(getting my Brave UP!)

I made a few "getting to know you"
warm-up marks. 1A.

not sure how I feel about this, yet.
If I lost it,
would I want it returned?
not yet.

Waiting
to see how the relationship builds.

stop by bell'antico to see the new coffee house, just around the corner from the starbucks on elizabeth... we will have to go there when you come up next time!!

The "getting to know you" marks warm my heart. There is something about simple pen and ink lines on white paper .... or writing for that matter.

YAY! Thanks for pointing me to this project too, I've chosen "Frist Thing in the Morning, Last Thing At Night". Let's keep each other inspired on this journey.

love your philosophy, as you take the leap, the lead......courage awaits, all pens capped.
i many have to begin
with a beginning.
a word.
then two.
then a mark. meanwhile, Rosario Mac waits to be wireless.

Be sure to post some pics and let us know they are up there.

Renee,
This looks like a great project. I'll keep track of what you do if you post it. Your beginning marks remind me of the artist Linda Karshan, whose work I bet you would like. I think you can "google" or "bing" her...

Hi Renee,
What an interesting project! I'll look forward to seeing what you do! A good beginning, clearly. I bet you would like the work of Linda Karshan. I bet you can "google" or "bing" her...

Renee, I'm glad I decided to hop over to your blog. It is a fun read. I love your post about the journal and will certainly check in from time to time to see what's up. I loved the blank pages at the beginning -- that is EXACTLY what I do...first pages intimidate me, I think. So I skip them. BTW, love your banner.

I have had mine for a while and have yet to put anything in it - I chose "face forward"
I had lots of ideas, but now they don't seem quite right.
I will definitely be checking in to see what you are doing, for inspiration!

Braving up - that's usually how I feel when I meet a blank page or canvas. I like the little line marks - simple yet fun to look at. I am part of this project too. My moleskin is a beautiful red. I thought the color would inspire me. I picked the theme "It Must Be". I won't start sketchin in it until mid October due to other obligations... ;o)

I love your theme, this looks like it will be a great project. Sometimes in art we need to be prepared to let go but it can be hard when we invest so much of ourselves in it!
