Mother Nature,
our first abstract artist.

Taking walks again with myself and Cam, the camera.
(Our relationship is deep enough, it is time to bestow my constant companion with a name.)

My Fav Backyard Tree

The Land of Lost Luggage is hosting an Arboreal collaboration with trees. Three posts - the week of August 23, week of November 8, week of April 4, 2010. 2010? How is that possible?.
This tree is in our backyard - we planted it maybe 20 years ago. It has enormous leaves for an oak tree, the underside is soft and furry, lovely to drag your fingers across.
The entire tree, an early teenager tree - many more years to grow. It's the tree that holds its leaves the longest in the fall and into winter, and the last to leaf out in the spring.
And such potential for the bark. Hard, tough, like a giant nail file.
