Launching

Recently took our youngest to college. A very cool and wondrous thing to launch a person into their life. That said - the drive (9+ hours) did have some very boring moments. Very boring moments are like an itch that can't be scratched. So, I took some photos out the window of the car as we were screaming down the interstate at 70+ mph and when we stopped in parking lots.

There is a lot of farmland in Kansas. And tractors. Farm equipment. crops. fences. open, open vast spaces. sky. clouds. traffic driving by. semi trucks with trailers. rest stops.

Some signs are just plain silly and need to be rethought. This sign was at a McDonald's. Odd when I think of how much effort McDonald's puts into their remodeled stores and "just so" presentation. We made a point to stop at McDonald's in an effort to have a "theme" for the trip. Comparing McDonald's. There are some fabulous remodels out there - fireplaces, 5 bathrooms, quilts and fake fish on the walls.

Trying to make the car feel a bit more like home with potential art tucked into the pocket of the car door.
